When hiring an entertainer…
Location
Choose a space where children can sit in front of the entertainer with some room to move.
An area with toys absent or out of sight is best.
Inside parties are typically better due to fewer distractions.
Any music, tv, game stations or noisy toys should be either removed or turned off.
Adult Conversations
should take place in another area as it is very distracting to both the children and your performer. If you have chatty adults, please as the host, ask them to either wait until the show portion is over or suggest another location.
Food:
Please schedule the food/snacks at a time when the entertainer is NOT performing. It is distracting and difficult for the children to respond or sing with a full mouth. Try to keep the eating period to a usual time for the children. Consider serving the cake at a different time from the other food – little stomachs need time to digest and often can’t eat a lot in one sitting.
Face Painting:
We require a bowl of water, a table & 2 chairs, as well as good lighting. If it is sunny, proper shade is required for both the painter and children. THIS is an appropriate time to introduce a craft or game. (See below).
Payment:
If your entertainer voluntarily goes overtime, you are not obligated to pay extra, but tips are always appreciated.
If you have extra unexpected guests please consider this when paying the performer. We often are running to another event; please have payment ready.
It is preferable that the children do not see payment being exchanged. For this reason we ask you to put the money in an envelope or some clients prefer the money in a loot bag.

Birthday Party Games
Court Jester
Choose a princess or prince and choose a jester (dress them up appropriately). The jester must then make the royalty laugh (option: give the jester some silly props).
Balloon Relay
Divide the children into 2 teams. The first child on each team is given a balloon that they must put between their knees. They must run with it to the next child. First team to have all the children take a turn wins.
